Players Postions

On the day of a match each team is allowed 45 players to make up the roster. From this roster, the players are organised into the Offensive, Defensive and Special Team units. Only 11 of the 45 players are allowed on the field at the same time, with many of the positions becoming specialised as indicated in the brackets ( ).
Position Names of the Offensive Unit
- QB - Quarterback
- RB - Running Back (FB - Fullback, HB - Halfback)
- WR - Wide Receiver (F - Flanker, SP - Split End, SR - Slot Receiver)
- TE - Tight End
- C - Center
- G - Guards (LG - Left Guard, RG - Right Guard)
- T - Tackles (LT - Left Tackle, RT - Right Tackle)
Position Names of the Defensive Unit
- E - Ends (DE - Defensive End, LE - Left End, RE - Right End)
- T - Defensive Tackles (LT - Left Tackle, RT - Right Tackle, NT - Nose Tackle)
- LB - Linebackers (LLB - Left Line Backer, MLB - Middle Line Backer, RLB - Right Light Backer, LOLB - Left Outside Linebacker,
LILB - Left Inside Line Backer, ROLB - Right Outside Line Backer, RILB - Right Inside Line Backer) - CB - Cornerback (LCB - Left Cornerback, RCB - Right Corner Back)
